Aphrodite, a 3-year-old Lab mix, came to rescue on January 8, 2026 after being hit by a car. She was severely injured and emaciated.

She had also recently given birth to 9 puppies, yet somehow found the strength to care for them despite her fragile condition.

Terrified of people and deeply traumatized, Aphrodite trembled at any human contact. With daily loving care and patience, she has transformed into a healthy 60 pounds and has blossomed into a curious, playful, and loving dog.

While still cautious with strangers and new experiences, Aphrodite continues to make progress every day. She has a heart of gold and a remarkable resilience. She continues to have hip problems, but daily treatment with Movoflex or Cosequin and occasional treatment with an NSAID brings her much relief. Aphrodite needs a family who will shower her with love, patience, and the time for her to truly shine.
