Adoption Process

Getting Started

We will expertly guide you through our seamless adoption process, which consists of the following steps:

Steps

1

Fill out and submit the application making sure that you answer every question fully and honestly.

2

You will receive an email summary of your application.

3

An adoption coordinator will contact you. Please note that we often receive many applications for each dog.

4

If the adoption coordinator approves you, a foster will contact you to answer your questions and to further evaluate whether you and the dog are a good match.

5

Should you decide to adopt, you will move into the finalization phase in which:

A. You will electronically sign the contract and email it back to your adoption coordinator.

B. You will pay the adoption fee.

6

Our transport team will notify you to confirm your designated pickup date and location. The $160 transport fee will be paid in cash on the day that you pick up your new dog.
*A note to our Southern Applicants:

Our adoptable dogs reside in the private homes of our fosters; therefore, we are not open to the public. Please submit an application on our website. If selected, we will schedule a time when you can come meet the dog(s) for which you applied.

*A note to our applicants in the Northeast:

You must be comfortable adopting a dog without a prior face-to-face meeting. Fosters can answer all of your questions about a dog. We will send you lots of pictures and you can even request a recorded video or live video call.

It is rare that we know with certainty the exact ages and mixed breeds of our rescue dogs. We rely on our vast experience to be as accurate as possible.

Adoption fees cover medical record maintenance, quarantine, deworming, spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm, and flea & tick preventatives, microchipping, and a vet examination that clears the dog for transport (Alabama State Health Certificate).

The transport fee is $160. We take meticulous care of the dogs during their trip and make every effort to arrive with minimally stressed dogs.
